Real Editing blog

After everything that went wrong the first time we blogged, we were unsure we would finish our product. Things happened like the computer being too slow, Pinnacle studios also crashed. When we actually got into to studios are files didn’t save. It was a nightmare I was so worried that I would get a 0 because we had nothing to film with, luckily at the end of class I recovered my files. But we still had a problem of time and how we would edit, we were so luck and happy to hear that the date had been pushed back because everyone else was having similar problems to us. This experience taught me to not waste time and to be productive while editing. It was hard to sort all of our files into a folder dump again and try to do the whole process again but we did. The next class we were back on it but instead of the broken school computers we were using small faster school laptops with pinnacle studios on it. We hopped back into editing.

The editing process was stressful because we only had 35 minutes to edit our whole project. We started with many overlaps and pauses. We filled those pauses and cut as much was needed. We then looked for a song to use in the background of the commercial. After listening to a few, we found one. We added it to the background and cut most of it, since the commercial was only around 30 seconds. We found it difficult to cut our commercial back to 28 seconds because we decided to add a Nike Just Do It black screen at the end. We kept cutting and adding things to make it perfect. In order for the Just Do It scene to fit, we had to cut a lot of our videos. Some of which started off as 5 seconds, ended up being 2 or 3 seconds. However, it felt like it was mandatory to fit the Just Do It scene because it is a Nike commercial.

The audio matched up to the videos, and music was set. The music was at the right volume level. After we added the Nike ending we added finishing touches and saved it as a mp4 and a avi. It took like 8 minutes to export. We saved it on both the laptop and google drive gmail, the final editing process was exciting and chaotic we had to rush a lot of things into one 35 minute period  but I feel it came out pretty good.
